The immediate working and living environment of many millions of people today is influenced by ventilation and air conditioning systems. A system that is hygienically designed, installed, and maintained has a positive impact on the health, well-being, and performance of occupants.

However, improperly designed and poorly maintained systems can also have negative effects on health and well-being.

Our range of services

We provide competent and comprehensive advice on all aspects of the planning, execution, maintenance, and refurbishment of ventilation and air conditioning systems. Our institute has many years of experience in this field.

Initial hygiene inspections and routine inspections of ventilation and air conditioning systems in accordance with VDI 6022
Hygiene conformity testing of ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment, as well as their components and recooling systems, with regard to structural requirements of technical regulations
Material testing, e.g. in accordance with DIN EN ISO 846
Indoor air quality measurements for various chemical and microbiological parameters
Measurement of various microbiological parameters, such as total colony counts, Legionella, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa in humidifier, make-up, or cooling water
Analysis of submitted samples, e.g. humidifier water, cooling water, or contact culture samples
Conformity testing in accordance with technical regulations for ventilation and air conditioning systems

Ventilation and air conditioning systems: testing in accordance with VDI 6022

To prevent negative effects of ventilation and air conditioning systems on the health of occupants, VDI Guideline 6022 requires regular hygiene inspections. Improperly designed and maintained systems can pose health risks.

Regular hygiene inspections are mandatory!

Hygiene inspections include an independent assessment of your ventilation and air conditioning system as well as the conditioned rooms. In addition, microbiological analyses are carried out, for example on filter, duct, or heat exchanger surfaces, on make-up, cooling, and humidifier water, and on air within the system and/or in the rooms compared to outdoor air. Furthermore, physical climate parameters such as air temperature, humidity, and air velocity are determined in various areas of the system.

Upon completion of the inspections, you will receive an expert report describing the hygienic and technical condition of your system.
For newly installed ventilation and air conditioning systems, we carry out independent hygiene acceptance testing in accordance with VDI Guideline 6022.
