When it comes to protecting our environment - and thus nothing less than the well-being of future generations - foresight and sustainable action are the best basis for meaningful social interaction. Preventive health protection must never be guided by short-term fads or subordinate to day-to-day political constraints. Legislators must develop long-term concepts and act transparently.
Neutral and independent
The Hygiene Institute of the Ruhr Area sees itself as an independent and neutral institution. Our services serve a bridging function between science and practice, legislation and industry - always complying with the legal framework and considering the current standards.

We want to make the world a little safer. And point the right way to a future worth living with the help of targeted examinations and expert opinions.
In urban areas and rural regions
Human health and an intact and safe environment are at the heart of everything we do. This is especially important in urban areas such as the Ruhr region with more than 5 million inhabitants or other densely populated areas of our planet. But also in the rural areas characterized by industrial agriculture.
